Today, the Alberta government announced it would extend the fuel tax holiday for another six months, costing about $520 million dollars. So let’s round down and say a year of this costs an even billion…
With apologies to the Bare Naked Ladies:
If I had a billion dollars
(If I had a billion dollars)
Well I'd buy you some housing
(Some nice affordable public units)
And if I had a billion dollars
(If I had a billion dollars)
I'd buy us some doctors
(Maybe a nice OB or a cardiologist)
And if I had a billion dollars
(If I had a billion dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a Tesla
(A nice electric automobile)
Or if I had a billion dollars
I'd buy your love.
But not a real Tesla, that’s cruel.
I thought the fuel tax was for funding Road Maintenance....our roads are already "third world".
No regular passenger rail service, no regular motorcoach service after Grehound pulled out, airline oligarchy.....kinda makes our constitutional right of "Freedom to live anywhere in Canada" a bit hamstrung with the roads going to hell.
And without Huawei tech we can't get universal connectivity!
Government by chumps!
Lets give the Pathway Alliance, the people who can't build a tailings pond that don't leak, $13Billion to liquify CO2 and pump it under Cold Lake.....what could possibly go wrong????
